Fine wines were produced in Prince Edward County more than a century ago. At the 1876 Philadelphia Exposition, a County winery won the Blue Ribbon! In the intervening years the focus on winemaking was lost — until in the 1990’s a group of intrepid wine industry pioneers rediscovered the region. So began the reinventing of Closson Road as the premier destination in Prince Edward County, where several farm shops welcome visitors to enjoy an authentic farm experience and B&B’s now offer accommodation and reprise from a day full of activity.
